- How to Use Social Media Sanely [BLOG]

Dear friends and followers, Tara Sophia Mohr (@tarasophia) from Wise Living recently wrote a guest post with 10 social media commandments over at Productive Flourishing that you might find interesting.

From the post:

We—the bloggers, blog readers, twitterers, people who spend a lot of time on social media—are growing up.

Our relationship with social media is maturing. In the beginning, we just played around and drank it all up.

But more and more of us are finding we now need to consciously create our relationship to social media – to find boundaries and practices that make our engagement with social media work – not just for our businesses, but for our happiness and peace of mind.

This is my list of Social Media Commandments – the guidelines and intentions I’ve set around my use of social media. We each need a list like this. What’s on yours?

Social Media Monitoring [GERMAN, BLOG]

Dear friends and followers, if you are interested in social media monitoring in Germany, you might want to check out Stefanie Aßmann‘s (@miss_assmann) German blog on the subject:

Here’s an excerpt from a recent post:

German Facebook User Data, 31.01.2011 [STATS]

Dear friends and followers, according to facebookmarketing.de there are 15.096.500 active German Facebook users as of 31.01.2011.

Interestingly enough, Dusseldorf seems to have more active users than Cologne, although Cologne has almost twice the population. Do you have any idea why people in Dusseldorf would more active on Facebook? Is it just that people from neighbouring cities would rather have people believe that they are from Dusseldorf?
